CDnow's Country/Folk section!BOB DYLAN:
Hank Williams was the first influence, I would think, I guess, for a longer period of time than anybody else..Bronstein Interview, Montreal, CDN, Feb 20, 1966.
SOME HANK WILLIAMS SONGS COVERED BY DYLAN:
JOHN BAULDIE:
I love the scene in the hotel room with Joan Baez when Dylan sings the Hank Williams songs. Can you remember how long he was singing for that night?D. A. PENNEBAKER:
Oh, he sang a lot. I have a lot more film of that. They did one marvellous one, Joan and he, that I was going to use, but it was a little too long: "Good news travels slow, but bad news travels like wildfire." Do you know that song? It's a great song, and they sang it together.Jul 15, 1986 interview; reprinted in John Bauldie (ed.), Wanted Man: In Search of Bob Dylan, London, 1992 (paperback edition with additional material), pp. 59-60.
